Area and Recreational Facilities Manager

Our client is a local Town Council that are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Public Realm Manger.  This is a new and exciting role that has arisen from the Council acknowledging that the current management of its open spaces and built facilities needs a more proactive approach.

This role plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient management and maintenance of the Town Council’s facilities, land, and property portfolio. It will involve managing and overseeing day-to-day operations, coordinating maintenance activities, and strategically managing assets.

Area and Recreational Facilities Manager – Benefits Offered

• £38,626 - £45,718 per annum
• 25 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, plus 2 concessionary days, rising to 30 days after 5 years.
• Hybrid working

• 37 hours per week 
• Some evening and weekend work required

Area and Recreational Facilities Manager - Job Overview

• Manages the Town Council’s Public Realm including recreational facilities, open spaces, streetlights, cemetery, and allotments.
• Responsible for the monitoring of the ground’s maintenance contract
• Develop monitor and regular review the Town Council’s strategies and polices in respect of the built facilities, and open spaces including parks and playgrounds.
• Manages: Facilities Officer; Cemetery & Allotment Officer and Amenities Officer
• Clerk to: Public Realm Committee

Area and Recreational Facilities Manager - Skills & Experience Required

• Strong organisational abilities and project management skills
• Experience in grounds maintenance and/or facilities management
• Passionate about delivering excellent facilities
• Flexible, proactive approach and willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends.
• Knowledge of local government structure and committees desirable but not essential
