Senior Workshop Engineer

Our well established client based in Biggleswade is seeking a Senior Workshop Engineer to Join them on a permanent basis.

As a Leader in the workshop, supervising the engineers you are an integral part of the business providing senior support to all engineers, training needs and troubleshooting on repairs.

Senior Workshop Engineer - Job Overview

• Oversee/supervise and train  a team of engineers and apprentices.
• Assist Workshop Manager with preparation of estimates, work planning and co-ordination when required.
• Promote health and safety work environment and lead by example
• To provide technical assistance to members of staff as required.
• To advise of training requirements needed within the department.
• To promote company image whenever on company business.
• To participate in training courses at home and abroad when required.
• To assist and co-ordinate contractors when on site and to be the point of contact.
• Any other duty as required by management commensurate with the post.

Senior Workshop Engineer - Skills and Experience Required 

• NVQ level 3 in heavy plant machinery, engineering or equivalent apprenticeship in industry related
• Experience in component refurbishments, repair and maintenance work
• GCSE A-C in Maths and English
• Full clean driving license
• Be able to travel to Uk and Ireland or oversees when needed
• Experience working in a supervisor role
• Attend training when needed
• Experience in a similar role
• Experience working in a workshop and having a technical understanding and environmental awareness
• Team Player
• Strong communicator
• Flexible approach to work
• Capable of working independently
• Well organised
