An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join a well established Stevenage organisation, passionate about healthcare, working on a hybrid basis. The role is on an interim basis with the real potential for it to turn into a permanent position.

Health and Safety Manager - Job Overview
As a Health and Safety Manager your duties will include;
- Developing and implementing a robust health and safety management system for both companies promoting the delivery of high standards of health and safety management
- Creating a positive culture around H&S and ensuring compliance of H&S across the companies
- Carry out and ensure compliance with risk assessments, conduct audits of all sites as required by legislation
- Recommend and implement control measures and advise on the standard of PPE issued to employees
- To carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on the relevant NHSE forms, Incident Logs and RIDDOR
- Conduct/organise relevant health and safety training for staff as required, including first aid and fire safety
- Identify areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or HSE guidance. Arrange such training/certification once identified.
Health and Safety Manager - Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in Health & Safety at work
- NEBOSH qualified
- Understanding of working within a regulated environment – eg CQC or HMICFRS
- Strong auditing experience
- Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and other legislation relevant
- Strong organisational or administrative skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- IT literate and a comprehensive understanding of Windows based programmes to include Word, Excel and Outlook essential
- The ability to communicate clearly and confidently with a range of people, both on the phone and face-to-face
