Navigating Mental Health and Wellbeing Through Menopause - A Workplace Perspective

In the UK currently around one in six people (17%) have considered leaving work due to a lack of support in relation to their menopause symptoms, and a further 6% have actually left work.  A lack of knowledge and awareness on this topic is having a huge impact not only on business but employees mental health and wellbeing at work.  

Nicky Kuklys, Head of Training from MIND Mid Herts with be delivering valuable insights to help people navigate mental health through menopause, with a focus on the workplace environment. This session will explore the unique challenges women face during menopause and how it impacts their mental well-being in the workplace. Discover practical strategies for creating a supportive work environment and empowering women to thrive during this transitional phase of life.

This session will help attendees;

  • Understand the stages of menopause and the common symptoms that impact mental health.
  • Recognise the psychological effects of menopause, including anxiety, depression, and stigma, within the workplace context.
  • Identify workplace policies and accommodations that can support women experiencing menopausal symptoms.
  • Learn effective communication strategies for discussing menopause-related challenges with managers and colleagues.
  • Explore self-care practices and resources to promote mental well-being during menopause in the workplace.
  • Gain insights into fostering a more inclusive and supportive workplace culture for women navigating menopause.

Attendees will receive take-aways to support them on the journey to creating a more inclusive workplace; resources include a template menopause policy and presentation to up skill their teams.
