A well-established and respected organisation based in Hitchin is seeking a confident and experienced HR Advisor to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a generalist HR professional looking for a standalone role with variety, autonomy, and the ability to make real impact.

Reporting to the senior leadership team, the HR Advisor will support across the full employee lifecycle, providing professional, practical advice on HR policies, employee relations, compliance and development initiatives.

HR Advisor - Job Overview 
  • Advise managers on all HR matters including employee relations, performance, absence and development
  • Manage and develop HR policies, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with best practice
  • Lead on recruitment, onboarding and selection in line with employment law
  • Monitor and support absence management processes
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure GDPR compliance
  • Oversee HR systems and liaise with payroll for hourly staff
  • Support and coordinate Health & Safety activities
  • Provide generalist HR project support and handle queries at all levels
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture in line with company values
HR Advisor - Skills & Experience Required 
  • CIPD qualified (Level 3 minimum)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a generalist HR role with advisory responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and handle sensitive matters with discretion
  • Well-organised, self-motivated, and flexible in approach
  • Confident using HR systems and Microsoft Office (experience with Moorepay desirable)
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting advantageous
