An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced and detail-focused Finance Administrator & Analyst to join a well-established and supportive team. This is a varied role combining finance administration, credit control, and systems monitoring. You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager, supporting with both routine and ad hoc finance operations. This is a hands-on position, ideal for someone with a strong background in Sage 50, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Credit Control, and Excel (including pivot tables and lookups).

£27,300 per annum – On site parking – 22 days holiday + bank holidays

Please note this is a full-time office based role in Stevenage working Monday to Friday 35 hours per week (9:00am – 4:30pm/ 8:30am – 4:00pm)

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily use of Sage Line 50 for finance tasks including scanning, loading and matching supplier invoices
  • Manage purchase and sales ledger entries
  • Monitor and chase aged debt via calls and emails
  • Prepare supplier invoice payment reports
  • Match receipts and payments to Sage records
  • Maintain and check Excel reports, including Cashcal and weekly meter movement checks
  • Perform anomaly analysis in cashless payment data and reset systems where needed
  • Provide cover for Finance Manager and assist with general admin tasks
  • Support payroll (training provided if needed)
  • Assist with cash handling and customer wholesale orders when required

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar finance administration role
  • Proven use of Sage Line 50 (essential)
  • Confident with Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs (essential)
  • Strong communication and numeracy skills
  • Professional and customer-friendly phone/email manner
  • Highly organised, accurate, and confident working independently
  • Sage Payroll experience is a bonus (can be taught)
