A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a detail-focused and customer-centred Collections Officer to join a growing financial services organisation. This role plays a vital part in supporting the Collections & Recoveries function, helping to manage arrears, identify early signs of financial difficulty, and ensure positive outcomes for both the business and its customers.

Collections Officer - Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing customer accounts that fall into arrears, applying appropriate forbearance strategies
  • Support cases involving external receivers or administrators, helping to reduce potential losses
  • Log and resolve customer complaints and dissatisfaction in line with policy
  • Identify and manage vulnerable customers in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Conduct customer reviews to recommend appropriate next steps and solutions
  • Maintain accurate records using internal systems and CRM tools
  • Assist with producing regular reports for internal and regulatory us
  • Promote best practice in line with customer conduct, GDPR, and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles

Collections Officer - Skills & Experience Required 

  • Previous experience in collections, arrears management, or customer accounts within
  • Financial services experience is essential
  • Comfortable communicating with customers, solicitors, and third-party agencies
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of organisation
