CNC Programmer

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer on behalf of our client based in Letchworth on a permanent basis.

This role requires expertise in programming CNC router machines using Alpha Cam software, and primarily working with MDF and chipboard.

• Hours: Monday to Thursday 08.00 a.m. to 16.30 and Friday 08.00 to 16.00

CNC Programmer – Duties

• Create and manage CNC programs to ensure efficient production.
• Prepare programming documents and drawings for machine operators.
• Verify parts and programs against drawings in collaboration with machine setters.
• Assist operators with technical drawing details and set up CNC router cells for maximum output and quality.
• Coordinate with production management to prioritize and meet shift targets.
• Adhere to health and safety standards.
• Undertake additional tasks as directed by management.

CNC Programmer - Skills/Qualifications

• CNC Programming Expertise: Proficient in creating programs for CNC router machines, with specific experience using Alpha Cam software.
• Material Knowledge: In-depth understanding of wood materials, including MDF and chipboard, and their properties in manufacturing processes.
• Technical Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read, create, and interpret technical drawings to ensure accuracy in production.
• Problem-Solving: Capable of troubleshooting programming or operational issues efficiently.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring high-quality standards in programming and finished products.
• Collaboration: Strong communication skills to liaise with machine operators, supervisors, and production managers.
• Health & Safety Awareness: Familiarity with safe work practices in a manufacturing environment.
• Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
