Customer Service Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and detail-focused Customer Service Officer to join a successful, long-established manufacturing business in Stevenage. This is a fantastic role for someone with proven customer service experience within the manufacturing industry, who enjoys managing customer relationships, solving problems, and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations.

About the Role

As a Customer Service Officer, you’ll act as the main point of contact for customers, managing orders from enquiry through to delivery. You’ll work closely with internal departments including production, planning, and logistics to ensure that products are delivered accurately and on time. 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts and act as the main contact for all order and delivery queries

• Process and amend sales orders accurately, ensuring correct pricing and delivery details

• Prepare quotations and liaise with suppliers where required

• Monitor order progress and update customers on production and delivery schedules

• Coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues promptly and efficiently

• Manage invoicing, credit notes, and returns where necessary

• Maintain accurate customer records and data in internal systems

• Provide high-quality administrative support across the customer service function

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous customer service experience within a manufacturing environment (essential)

• Strong organisational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Confident working with Microsoft Excel and internal order management systems

• Ability to multitask, prioritise workload, and remain calm under pressure

• A proactive team player who takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service
