Metering Administrator

We’re currently recruiting for a Metering Administrator to join a growing consultancy based in Hertfordshire. This role is ideal for graduates, experienced administrators, or candidates with experience in utilities.

About the Role

As a Metering Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the utility metering department, working across the full lifecycle of customer contracts. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate data, liaising with suppliers, managing contract information, and ensuring new customers are set up correctly and efficiently.

Your role as a Metering Administrator will include supporting contract creation, coordinating new metering orders, managing installations, maintaining internal systems, resolving queries, and ensuring smooth communication with suppliers and internal teams. You’ll build strong relationships across the business while ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing new and renewal customer metering and energy management contracts.

• Setting up customers on internal systems, including contracts, invoicing and ordering.

• Placing and managing metering orders through to installation completion.

• Maintaining accurate databases and contract information.

• Liaising with suppliers to obtain contract details and resolve issues.

• Submitting DNO applications and coordinating new connection processes.

• Providing Account Managers with timely updates and supporting cross-department projects.

• Managing data entry with accuracy and consistency.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to ensure service delivery.

Benefits

• Salary: £26,000 per annum.
• Performance-related bonus of up to £2,000 per annum after 12 months.

About You

We are open to a range of backgrounds. You could be:

• A graduate looking for an entry route into sustainability, utilities, data or administration.

• An experienced administrator.

• Someone with utilities, metering or energy experience.

We are looking for candidates with:

• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

• Good IT ability, especially using Excel.

• Confidence communicating with suppliers and colleagues.

• Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines.

• A proactive and positive approach, with willingness to learn.
